Behind the name:
Medbilden is a portmanteau of 'medical' and 'bilden'. Bilden is a word of germanic etymology that has multiple meanings relating to imagining in one's mind, or to picture, and also educate. This name encapsulates the art of medical illustration. The knowledge from study is applied to the practice of the artist and is employed to formulate imagery that goes beyond the surface. Telling a visual story strategically to make a bigger impact on education.
